CityBlue Hotels is becoming one of the top success stories in
Africa’s hospitality industry, expanding its regional footprint
across sub-Saharan Africa.

After starting in Rwanda in 2013, CityBlue Hotels has
impressively grown its presence in the region to include a number
of other African nations.

We find out more about how this chain is fast becoming a
household name in the African hospitality industry.

CityBlue goes big in Africa

CityBlue Hotels has become something of a whirlwind success in
hospitality terms: since its inception in 2013, it has grown its
presence far beyond the borders of its home country Rwanda to put
down roots in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and now in Tanzania.

CityBlue Hotels will soon open a 65-key property in Tanzania’s
capital, bringing the brand’s portfolio to a total of 288 rooms
across Africa.

Urban by CityBlue will be in Dar es Salaam and is slated to open
in March of 2020. It will mark the third addition to CityBlue’s
Urban brand, which is geared towards business travellers but offers
a boutique setting.

CityBlue Chief Operating Officer Zahra Peera
said of the venture, “This is a momentous day for CityBlue. As of
2020, we will be operating in all major East African cities with a
network of incredible partners such as H&S. We look forward to
developing a strong network across Tanzania in the years ahead with
a focus on Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza and Zanzibar.”

CityBlue on track for further growth

The new Dar Es Salaam property will be the latest element in
CityBlue’s regional growth plan in Africa.

This hotel occupies a coveted address overlooking the city’s
peninsula and business district. Guests will enjoy time spent on
the rooftop terrace, which boasts an outdoor restaurant and pool
deck.

The Tanzanian venture was facilitated by a partnership between
CityBlue and a local development and real estate company, whose
spokesperson said, “We are thrilled by this undertaking which we
believe will bring a strong synergy between both parties, with
opportunities to expand across Tanzania.”
